Ever have something stolen from you? Not a good feeling at all, right?
You feel violated in a way you can’t even begin to explain. The feeling is multiplied by leaps and bounds when it’s something intangible that is taken from you. It wasn’t my intention to kick off the year with a serious warning but I feel this needs to be said.
Be careful in SL, don’t allow yourself to get close to the wrong kinds of people. That being said, the wrong kinds of people usually register quickly on my radar but some aren’t revealed until complications arise in the friendship or relationship and it’s too late to turn back. This was my case, someone from my past made a dirty attempt to get back at me for things that should stay in the past. In the process this person stole my anonymity, well attempted to and in all honesty it backfired.
What this person failed to realize is I never hid behind my anonymity. Yes, I worked on my AV to make her pretty but there’s no doubt about it she was fashioned after the real world version of a woman who puts her heart in every word she writes, and finds beauty far beyond the physical. I may not be perfect in real life but there’s no doubt in my mind I am a beautiful woman inside and out. Therefore this botched attempt to make me feel bad about myself only made me laugh. I honestly didn’t think I was on this person’s radar at all anymore but I guess the fact that I’m moving on is getting under their skin.
Tip Number 2:Be careful how much you share with someone. Not saying you should live as if everyone is out to get you or guard your personal details with your life (well that might be good advice too lol)but be sure you’re close enough to share details and photos from your RL. If you’re not ready just ask your friend or partner to be patient. If they can’t do that then they’re not the kind of friend or partner you need to have in your SL. Nobody should force you into anything. Remember SL is about what you want it to be.
